Stony Plain Worm Castings – Organic Materials & Soil Amendments

1. Overview

Stony Plain Worm Castings ships high-quality organic worm castings, composts, soil amendments, and blended soil products across Alberta and select Canadian regions.
Because our products are biological and moisture-sensitive, special shipping considerations apply to ensure product integrity.

2. Shipping Regions

We currently ship to:

  • Alberta (all major cities and towns)

  • Western Canada (BC, SK, MB)

  • Local pickup and local delivery in the Stony Plain / Spruce Grove / Edmonton region

Shipping options will be shown at checkout.
If you require delivery outside these areas, please contact us directly.

3. Processing Times

  • Orders are processed within 2–5 business days.

  • During peak gardening seasons (April–August), processing may take slightly longer.

  • Orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed the next business day.

You will receive a confirmation email once your order is processed and shipped.

4. Shipping Methods

We ship using:

  • Canada Post

  • Purolator

  • Local courier or in-house delivery (for nearby regions)

  • Freight transport for bulk orders (pallets, totes, and supersacks)

Shipping method is automatically chosen to ensure the most reliable delivery based on product weight and location.

5. Delivery Timeframes

Estimated transit times (after processing):

  • Local Delivery: 1–3 business days

  • Within Alberta: 2–5 business days

  • Western Canada: 3–7 business days

  • Bulk Freight Orders: 3–10 business days

These are estimates and may vary depending on carrier delays, weather, or rural routing.

6. Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on:

  • Order weight

  • Shipping address

  • Carrier costs

  • Type of product (bulk items ship differently than bagged materials)

Free shipping promotions may apply during seasonal sales or for orders over a minimum value, where specified.

7. Bulk & Pallet Shipping

For palletized or bulk orders:

  • Shipments are delivered via freight carrier

  • A commercial address is recommended to avoid residential surcharges

  • Customers must ensure safe access for trucks (clear driveway, no obstructions)

  • Lift-gate service can be requested for tailgate delivery

  • If a delivery is refused for reasons unrelated to product damage, re-delivery fees may apply

8. Organic Material Shipping Considerations

Because our products include living, organic, and moisture-sensitive materials, the following conditions apply:

  • Worm castings and compost should not be left in extreme heat or freezing conditions after delivery

  • For doorstep delivery, customers should ensure a shaded, dry drop-off area when possible

  • Stony Plain Worm Castings is not responsible for product degradation that occurs after the shipment has been delivered by the carrier

9. Delivery Issues & Missing Packages

If your package is delayed, missing, or marked as delivered but not received:

  1. Verify the shipping address on your order

  2. Check for delivery notices

  3. Check with neighbours or your building manager

  4. Contact the carrier with your tracking number

If the issue cannot be resolved, contact us and we will assist in locating the shipment or arranging next steps.

10. Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives damaged (torn bags, contaminated product, moisture intrusion, etc.):

  • Take clear photos of the damage on arrival

  • Do not dispose of the product or packaging

  • Contact us within 7 days

We will review and offer a replacement, refund, or store credit depending on the issue.

11. Incorrect Address or Delivery Failure

If the address entered at checkout is incorrect and the carrier cannot deliver the package:

  • Additional shipping charges may apply for re-delivery

  • Refunds for mis-delivered orders are not guaranteed if the wrong address was provided by the customer

12. Local Pickup

Local pickup may be available by appointment.
Customers must bring their order confirmation and photo ID.
Pickup locations will be listed at checkout or provided by email.
